Trump warns Russia, China against arming Iran amid Iran-US-Israel tensions

U.S. President Donald Trump warned Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping against supplying arms to Iran, saying such a move would have serious consequences and is certainly not in their interests. Trump said both leaders assured him during recent talks that their governments are not arming Tehran or joining the U.S.-Israel conflict, despite earlier Western intelligence reports alleging Russia had supplied Iran with drones, food and medical supplies, and China considering air defence shipments. He added that Putin gave him a similar assurance despite Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Iran’s internal situation worsened as reports showed more than 100 people executed in the past month, including three women, after authorities resumed executions weeks after hostilities with the United States and Israel began in March. Human rights groups say the executions aim to suppress anti‑government protests that have left over 50 demonstrators dead and been called the largest wave of unrest since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Analysts warn executions could rise further if cease‑fire talks collapse.
