UAC Sells 43% Stake in DP World Logistics to TGI Group’s 22 Plus Invest
UAC of Nigeria Plc has agreed to sell its 43% shareholding in DP World Logistics Limited to 22 Plus Invest Limited, a member of the Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group. The deal, disclosed in a corporate filing on September 24, 2026 and signed by Company Secretary Ayomipo Wey, remains subject to regulatory approvals. UAC’s Group Managing Director Fola Aiyesimoju said the company is confident TGI will help sustain the growth trajectory achieved by DP World Logistics and bring deep market knowledge to strengthen operations in Nigeria. TGI Group’s Vice Chairman Farouk Gumel described the acquisition as a strategic move aligned with its vision for African trade and logistics, aiming to combine DP World’s global expertise with TGI’s distribution network to build resilient supply chains across the continent. The transaction marks a significant development in Nigeria’s logistics sector, positioning TGI as a key shareholder alongside DP World. UAC expects DP World Logistics to continue contributing to Nigeria’s logistics industry development and sees long‑term benefits for employees and stakeholders. With UAC’s extensive background in packaged foods, beverages, logistics and real estate, and TGI’s 40‑year footprint across agriculture, FMCG, distribution and financial services, the partnership combines complementary strengths. Will this alliance improve logistics efficiency and lower costs for Nigerian businesses, or could regulatory delays impede the anticipated benefits?
