UBA mourns former Chairman Chief Israel Ogbue, 99, dies
United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc announces the peaceful passing of Chief Israel C. Ogbue, former Chairman, at age 99. A revered governance leader, he served on UBA's board from 2005 and chaired the bank from 2011-2013 during its transformation. Known for integrity and institutional excellence, he also held senior roles at National Insurance Corporation of Nigeria (NICON) before retiring in 1988. Survived by wife, children including Dr. Awele Elumelu, and grandchildren, UBA extends condolences and honors his legacy of service.
