UBA Launches Diaspora Banking Platform to Boost Nigerian Investment
United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has launched a new Diaspora Banking platform designed to connect Africans in the diaspora with investment and wealth opportunities in Nigeria. The platform, developed with ecosystem partners, aims to move beyond remittances toward structured wealth creation. UBA's Group Managing Director, Oliver Alawuba, hosted Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) officials at UBA's UK office, emphasizing the diaspora's role as a key economic force. Alawuba stated: 'With UBA, you have a financial partner that understands what you're going through and can support you to realize your aspirations, both here and in Nigeria.' NiDCOM Chairman Abike Dabiri-Erewa praised UBA's trusted partnership and called for stronger narratives celebrating diaspora success. The platform facilitates cross-border payments, unlocks high-yield investments, and connects diaspora enterprises to African markets. UBA serves 45 million customers globally across 25 African countries and the UK, US, France, and UAE.
