UBAmourns former chairman Israel Ogbue's death at 99
United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc announced the death of its former chairman, Israel Ogbue, 99, on Thursday. Mr Ogbue joined UBA's board in 2005 as a Non-Executive Director, became chairman in 2011, and retired in 2013. He built a distinguished career at the National Insurance Corporation of Nigeria (NICON) before serving on UBA's board. Known for governance expertise, he provided steady leadership during UBA's transformation, reinforcing corporate governance and sustainability. He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren. UBA extended condolences to his family and celebrated his legacy of integrity and institutional excellence.
