UduTech teams with Baro AI to expand GPU access for African AI projects

Udu Technologies, a Nigerian GPU cloud platform, signed a partnership on September 9 with South Korean AI infrastructure firm Baro AI at the Korea-Africa Economic Cooperation Ministerial Conference in Seoul. The deal gives UduTech access to Baro AI’s multi‑GPU Poseidon servers, expanding the hardware options on its AGH Cloud platform for African governments, businesses and research institutions. Africa holds less than 1% of global data‑centre capacity and an even smaller share of the GPU infrastructure needed to run AI systems, leaving users to face global chip scarcity and hardware delivery delays of up to 36 weeks from suppliers such as Dell, HP and Supermicro. By adding Baro AI as a second source, UduTech expects greater flexibility on cost and delivery times. The Poseidon servers use liquid cooling and produce low noise, making them suitable for deployment in banks, telecom companies and other settings where large, noisy data‑centre equipment is impractical. Alexander Tsado, CEO of UduTech, said the partnership disrupts the status quo so African organisations issuing RFPs for AI infrastructure won’t have to endure long waits. Founded in February 2025 by a former NVIDIA engineer, UduTech already operates its Africa GPU Hub with deployments in Nigeria and the United States through AGH Cloud. Baro AI sees the deal as a route into Africa’s fast‑growing AI infrastructure market, where most enterprise GPU servers still come from established global vendors.
