The UN's World Food Programme (WFP) warns that if the US-Israel-Iran conflict continues through June, an additional 45 million people could face acute hunger due to rising food prices and disrupted aid routes. Current acute hunger stands at 319 million globally, the highest level ever recorded. The war has increased shipping costs by 18% and delayed life-saving aid deliveries. Without urgent funding and improved access, global hunger levels could reach unprecedented levels. The conflict began February 28, 2026.
