US military strikes destroyed an Iranian underground facility storing anti-ship cruise missiles and radar systems, degrading Tehran's ability to threaten the Strait of Hormuz. The bombing used 5,000-pound bunker-busting bombs, less powerful than previous strikes but effective against hardened targets. This follows Iran's closure of the Strait, which handles one-fifth of global oil shipments and has caused Brent crude prices to surge over 50% in a month to $105/barrel. The US has conducted over 8,000 strikes in three weeks, targeting 130 Iranian vessels. While Washington pressures NATO allies to secure the Strait, analysts warn the conflict could further strain global fuel supplies and Nigeria's economy.
