US Vice President JD Vance held 21-hour marathon talks with Iran in Islamabad but failed to reach agreement to end Middle East war. Vance left after giving Tehran the 'final and best offer' for Washington's 'fundamental commitment' that Iran would not develop nuclear weapons.

The talks, mediated by Pakistan, occurred amid a temporary two-week ceasefire between US/Israel and Iran. Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vowed to continue facilitating dialogue and urged both sides to uphold the truce.

Iran accused US of 'unreasonable demands' while Trump claimed 'we've won' on the battlefield. The conflict directly impacts global oil prices since Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of world's oil transited before closure. With Nigeria's economy dependent on oil, any prolonged Middle East tension affects government revenue and fuel prices domestically.

As Iran considers Washington's offer, monitor whether Pakistan's mediation can bridge gaps between the two sides. The US military sent minesweeping ships to Hormuz, while Iran denied such transit and threatened retaliation - raising tensions for global trade routes.
