U.S. immigration lawyers are securing O-1B visas for Nigerian OnlyFans models, content creators, and social media influencers, citing their 'extraordinary ability' under U.S. immigration law. This development follows visa restrictions President Donald Trump imposed on Nigeria last month, affecting B-1, B-2, F, M, and J visa categories.

The O-1B visa covers arts and creative industries, and lawyers argue that digital creators and adult content performers qualify under this classification. Lawyers use metrics like likes, views, subscriber counts, brand endorsements, and ambassadorial roles to demonstrate eligibility. Fiona McEntee, a U.S. immigration lawyer, noted that appearances at store launches could even qualify as 'starring in a distinguished production' under O-1B criteria.

However, concerns exist that this trend could disadvantage applicants in science, education, and other O-1A fields, which require more complex documentation. O-1 visas cannot be applied for directly; a U.S. employer or agent must file petitions, typically with legal assistance. Successful applicants may also bring dependents under the O-3 category.
