VP Shettima to Address UN General Assembly on Thursday Afternoon

VP Kashim Shettima will deliver Nigeria's national statement at the 81st UN General Assembly on Thursday, September 24, 2026, speaking between 4:00-4:30 pm New York time (9:00-9:30 pm Nigerian time). This marks his third consecutive year representing President Bola Tinubu at the UNGA General Debate.

The statement outlines Nigeria's positions on major international issues and comes as part of a high-level delegation including Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal, ministers and other senior officials.
