In a statement issued on Tuesday by the corporation’s Managing Director, Mukhtaar Tijani, the affected locations include Akiode, Ikeja, Magodo, Oregun, Ketu, Ojota, Maryland, Aromire, Ogudu, Gbagada, Shomolu, Ojuelegba, Oyingbo, Ijora Olopa, Agege, as well as parts of Lagos Island. Tijani explained that the disruption is necessitated by the need to fix a major leak on the ND1600mm raw water pipeline supplying the Adiyan facility. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1524595905268-5'); }); According to him, the leakage at the Akute Intake Station has been hampering ongoing construction activities under the Adiyan Phase II project. He noted that continuous water seepage had soaked the surrounding ground, compromising soil stability and posing safety concerns for heavy construction machinery operating at the site. As a result, the Adiyan I Water Treatment Plant will be shut down temporarily to allow repair works to be carried out safely and to support progress on the Adiyan II intake construction. The managing director appealed for residents’ understanding, assuring that work is being fast-tracked to minimise inconvenience and that water supply will be restored immediately after the repairs are completed.
