News We’re no longer on strike but will stay at home – FCTA staff (VIDEO) Published on January 27, 2026 By Matthew Atungwu googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1500386953281-8'); }); Staff of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, have insisted on not resuming work despite a court order mandating them to suspend their industrial action. DAILY POST reports that the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday granted an interlocutory injunction filed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the FCT Administration, compelling workers under the Joint Union Action Committee to suspend their ongoing strike. The irate workers who gathered on Tuesday, however, said while they are no more on strike, they will stay back in their homes. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1524595905268-5'); }); One of the workers said: “Let them open the gate wide. We are in our houses. No wahala oh. We are no longer on strike. Tell them. Wike has won. Let them open all the gates. We are going to remain in our houses. When they meet our demands, we will come back to work. “We are not struggling with them. The life of every FCTA staff matters to us. Nobody will struggle with them. They have the gun, the power and the resources but the people’s power is more than their own. “We are gallant FCTA workers. We have the right to be respected. This is our land and we are not second class citizens here. You can’t be treated badly and then come to your own country and suffer this. We say enough is enough.” Watch the video: Don't Miss Alleged N1bn fraud: Court remands Kano electoral commission chairman, others You may like Court fixes Jan 27 to rule on Wike’s bid to halt FCTA workers strike NLC, FCTA workers storm court, demand Wike’s removal Wike’s legal battle against striking FCTA workers for definite hearing Jan 26 More troubles as NLC backs FCTA workers’ indefinite strike Wike drags FCTA workers to court Our strike continues – JUAC dismisses FCTA’s claims
