South African AI research platform Yazi has secured R30 million ($1.6 million) in undisclosed institutional funding led by 3 Capital Ventures (3CV). The investment will fund product development including automated voice interviews via WhatsApp, expand Africa's research participant panel, and support international scaling as demand grows from UK and European agencies. Yazi's platform enables organizations to conduct AI-moderated research directly through WhatsApp, the world's most-used messaging app with 3.2 billion users globally. The company operates in 15+ countries and reports 2.5x revenue growth last year with 64% month-on-month growth in its latest quarter. Clients include Old Mutual, Pick n Pay, Discovery, and Ipsos. Yazi's AI system replicates skilled researchers' work at scale, analyzing multi-day diary studies and generating presentation-ready insights automatically.
