In his Easter message on April 6, 2026, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda urged all Nigerians to stand united against insecurity. He emphasized that Easter's lessons of sacrifice, hope, and resurrection should inspire collective action to tackle Nigeria's security challenges, including banditry, insurgency, kidnapping, and violence.

Yilwatda described these issues as a source of collective national sorrow and called for enhanced solidarity, vigilance, and collaboration among citizens, institutions, and all tiers of government. He acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration efforts but stressed that lasting peace requires everyone's participation.

The chairman advised Nigerians to use the Easter season for prayer, reflection, and recommitment to values of peace, compassion, and service. He warned against fear and division, urging support for lawful security initiatives.

For everyday Nigerians, this means actively engaging in community safety—being vigilant, reporting suspicious activities, and promoting interfaith and inter-community harmony. With security agencies stretched thin, citizen involvement is presented as crucial.

As Yilwatda stated, 'This is a period for prayer, contemplation, and renewed hope.' How will you contribute to national security? Will you join local peace efforts, advocate for better resources, or foster unity in your neighborhood? The APC's call reinforces that overcoming insecurity demands collective responsibility beyond government actions.
